Korea Taqueria started as a small food cart in Philadelphia in 2022, created by two chefs with a shared love for blending flavors from their childhoods. Serving up a bold fusion of Korean and Mexican cuisine, the menu features everything from bulgogi birria tacos and kimchi cheese fries to Korean fried chicken sandwiches and their signature bulgogi cheesesteak. The unique combination of comfort, creativity, and cultural tradition quickly made Korea Taqueria a local favorite, helping it grow from a cart to multiple restaurant locations across the city.
The team behind Korea Taqueria is made up of Alexander Sherack and Rene Lopez. Alexander, a Korean Australian chef, brings a global perspective and a knack for innovation, while Rene, originally from Metztitlan, Hidalgo, Mexico, contributes deep culinary knowledge rooted in his heritage. Together, they’ve created a brand that not only celebrates the flavors of their backgrounds but also pushes the boundaries of fusion dining in Philadelphia.
