Scott Kaplan, founder and owner of Jerry's Kitchen, transitioned into the culinary world following a layoff from a 12-year career in corporate sales leadership. Inspired by his grandfather Jerry—his namesake who passed away in 2010 and was known for his passion for food—Scott launched the truck in early 2014, serving breakfast and lunch in Philly's University City and at local festivals. While he brings the vision and brand energy to the business, he collaborates closely with a seasoned chef with over 25 years of experience to translate his ideas into sustaining, crowd-pleasing recipes. Under Scott's direction, the business evolved from risk-heavy, cash sales to a thriving model built on prepaid catering, turning fully profitable by 2018. Known for his bold branding, adaptability, and customer-focused values, Scott continues to grow the brand while staying true to the fun, flavorful experience he set out to create.
